1955 Dodge Coronet - Newberg Showroom
1955 Dodge Coronet Lancer 2 Dr HT - Newberg Showroom
The 1955 Coronet became the popular priced entry for Dodge in 1955. Dodge used the Lancer name from 1955 to 1959 to designate the two- and four-door hardtop (no B-pillar) models in the full-sized Coronet, Royal, and Custom Royal lines. Bodies were restyled with help from newly hired Virgil Exner to be lower, wider, and longer than the lumpy prewar style, which in turn generated a healthy boost in sales over 1954.
This Coronet is presented in the fashionable tri-tone exterior combination of Salmon/Black/White and has a black and white interior. Power comes from the 270 cubic inch "Polysphere" V-8 engine and featuers the PowerFlyte automatic transmission with dash-mounted shift selector.
The paint finish, body panel fit and brightwork is second to none. It is set off by period wide whitewall tires and full wheel covers, radio and heater, a full set of gauges and dual exterior mirrors.
