The 68 Shelby unique features include floor console, factory oil and ammeter gauges, padded roll bar with inertial reels for race style shoulder belts. Shelby body styling was unique for 1968 with fiberglas hood, trunk lid, lower quarter panel side scoops.
History: The 68 KR convertible was built at Fords Metuchen, New Jersey plant and shipped to A.O. Smith in Inonia, Michigan, for final assembly. Fords New Jersey plant was responsible for building the chassis complete with mechanics. A.O Smith finished the 68 Shelbys installing the intake, Car Fiberglas Body panels, and Unique Shelby interior parts.
This Shelby was carefully restored to factory specifications during 1994-1995. Ford NOS parts were sourced to insure a high quality restoration. All the rare fiberglas panels are correct Shelby parts, not reproductions. This vehicle has the proper Ram Air-cleaner. The goal of the owner was to restore the Shelby to new condition and rebuild all mechanics so the car would be dependable and a joy to travel in.
